a weekend of painting

... instead of working on my record
burn on the world that waits with baited breath

painting is so much easier than making music
my painting process goes something like this
slap some random colors of paint on the canvas/board
make something out of whatevers there
unintentionally

whereas music…
i take a bunch of samples
a handful of homebrew synth presets
compound them with a pile of vst effects
then hack away until i get one part
and build from there
without a clear idea of where im going at the time
frustrating at times

and when i start feeling like that
[which i have been for the past few weeks]
its time to shift the mental gears
and do something else like watching tv creative.
