the longest months of my life

after 120+days
both of my daughters are now out of the hospital
they are doing fine
and by fine i mean still breathing
and growing and eating
they like being home.

still no word on which one is the evil twin
or what health / developmental difficulties they may have long term

years ago someone in a random forum said to me “mr. proem don’t get married… don’t have kids… life will become mundane”

another record? so soon?

yep.
probably by early april at the current rate of production
to be released by the illustrious [theres a frilly word for you]

the working title is kinda iffy for me

proem – first.last.always
a bit much of a nod to sisters of mercy…
which is not much of an issue
but im not sold on it yet
maybe once everything is finalized and out the door for mastering
it will make more sense
until then [ie. this week] ill be punching myself in the headpiece trying to come up with something thats more appropriate.

as for the material:
it might seem a bit thin in comparison to you shall have ever been
personally, i think it comes across as rather delicate in parts
mostly due to all the piano pieces
theres some harp and some strings in there as well
no text to speech vocals this time though
im saving those for the next record
which wont be for a long while
three years or more maybe
why?
cuz i’m getting married
AND
having all the babies

“real life” will ultimately take over
[even though between you and me and whoever else i’ve already started material for the next one]

I’ll be hopefully rolling out the proemland store just prior to the release of the record

this time tomorrow
ill be in boulder
more than likely sleeping

sometimes i forget how stressful
this traveling live show stuff can be

the coordinating
the packing
the rendering of new bits to play
the airport
the flying doesnt bother me so much
really

however
ive never done this many shows
in this short of a time period

four shows
to prepare for
what was i thinking?
seriously
i must be mad

you might be thinking
“oh stop rich, it cant be that bad… play the same show four times”
to which i say
you have never been to more than one proem show have you?

proem live sets are beautiful snowflakes

each one special, individual
mostly cuz i just pull it out of my hat
while im up there
doing my smoking live thing
[abracadabra!!! i give you beats and melodies!!!!]

truth is
i dont like to be bored.
playing the same EXACT set
more than once
would only
make my djface™ look three times as apathetic

maybe its just the anticipation of the thing
thats got me wired
jittery
even
