recommended reading
the grphc novel / comics edition
or things that ive read that if you dont read or havent already read i will take deep sighs and make dissappointed gestures in your general direction.
while i realize comic readers are a seemingly small minority,
and that most people are put off by the whole
overly testosterone infested comic fanboy stigma
the books presented here
are precisely that
books.
terribly subversive
often offensive
shockingly beautiful
deeply profound
infinitely surreal
books.
some of them science fiction
some of them horror
some of them plain old fiction
ALL of them brilliant literature with illustrations

Jimmy Corrigan/Ware (didn’t like it at first, but the more I look at it the more it grows on me)
Ice Haven/Clowes
Adrian Tomine’s stuff tends to have universal appeal
Watchmen & V for Vendetta/Moore (the movie looks like it could be good)
Goodbye Chunky Rice / Thompson – this is one of my favorite works in any medium.
When I first saw this stuff it hit me in the same way aphex twin did when I heard his music for the first time.
