you shall have ever been
so the record now has a title
thats it up there…
im close.
to finishing it off
maybe two or three tracks left to write.
people keep asking
is the new record a different direction?
which i usually answer:
no.
it is not a different direction
at least not for me anyway
the programming is a little more involved
ive been trying different techniques
been spending an increasing amount of time with
tablet2midi
its making studio life a breeze
ive finally worked out a hack
for Flstudios crap midi implementation
using the dashboard and duplicated controls
[which are mapped to send CC# and internal]
between that and creating a stock fl template
with the controls [all 50 of them] already mapped
has totally been a life saver
especially when automating kontakt/absynth

so if me gettin more technical and taking FL
where it doesnt usually go
and often times doesnt like to go
is a different direction….
so be it.
to clarify
and save myself from questions later
the record is/will be dedicated to my good friend jay
who for lack of a better term
passed away
tragically
suddenly
surprisingly
recently
the title of the record
and the two part title track
are significant
the lengths of the tracks in particular
- the day of his birth [5.29]
- the day of his unexpected death [3.27]
if there is a god
he/she is an asshole
for taking one of the nicest most genuine people ive met
off the face of this planet.

Can’t wait for the new album. I’m betting Merck’s final stretch will be very emotion and track titles will reflect this. The symbolism in the track lengths are a very nice touch.
I was just thinking that for whoever managed to make the last slot in the merck catalog should name the last track along the lines of ‘farewell’ or something similiar. :]
Ever heard of this album?

It’s my favorite album right now.
“if there is a god

I’ve always thought of it as God taking them to Heaven… Rewarding them, not stealing them. :]
Man, this comment was tooooooo loooooong…

hmm
as far as im concerned its a good thing for merck to be finished , infact it went on far too long and got away with way too much. Better things ahead no doubt
peace
